Functional enhancement and the overseas deployment of
digital signage software, "PanelDirector™"

Today, NEC Soft, Ltd (hereafter called NEC Soft. HQ: Koto-ku, Tokyo. President: Kenji Ikehara) announced the regional sales of its digital signage software product - PanelDirector™ 1 , in overseas markets, outside Japan. ("PanelDirector™" is the registered trademark for overseas marketing and sales of its domestic product "SmartPanel™"2)
NEC Soft first sold the SmartPanel™ in the digital signage market in Japan in 1998, and introduced the PanelDirector™ to a handful of its overseas markets such as Australia in 2003. Now, NEC Soft aims to market the PanelDirector™ more aggressively in the Asia-Pacific region, namely Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and China. A technical support team in the overseas subsidiaries of NEC and NEC Soft, was also organized to establish a framework for sales and maintenance for these products sold outside Japan.
PanelDirector™ is leading digital signage solution that distributes dynamic video, images, text and more direct to flat panel display screens anywhere, anytime. From eye-catching advertisements and in-store promotions, to breaking news and announcements and up-to-the-minute timetables and schedules, the PanelDirector™ can be adapted for use in various business settings and sectors, such as in banks, shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, universities, hospitals, and many more.
In the latest version of PanelDirector™, panel display functions have been improved drastically. With a wide range of supported formats such as HTML, Flash, Microsoft PowerPoint, still and moving images, and the ease of connection to audio-video equipment, the PanelDirector™ presents information in a clear and easily comprehensible manner, in single or multiple split-screen formats, pre-scheduled or in real-time. Moving messages are also more vibrant and visually stimulating.
In addition to the significant functional enhancement of the product such as indicated function of display, bilingual versions in English and Chinese (simplified and traditional) are now available for both the “PanelDirector™ Standard” for small to mid-scale networks, and “PanelDirector™ Professional” for large scale networks.
NEC Soft plans to market the PanelDirector™ to 500 companies in the Asia-Pacific region in the next three years.
